January Wrap Up

1/31/2019

Hello! We here at BLMS !MPACT had a great month. Here are some of my favorite things we did this month!

We had our monthly field trip! IMS hosted GAMES! GAMES! GAMES! In the commons there was the evolution of a super popular game here: Super Smash Bros!
We also had some intense rounds of Bingo! Led by our favorite Bingo Announcer: Mr.Steven
Picture
Then we also had some fun board games! Some new favorites: 5 min Dungeon and Super Fight!
Then another highlight is that we wrapped up filming our Oscar's movie for our March 22nd Event!
So that's really awesome! Our student's worked really hard to get the filming done on time so we can share the camera with the other !MPACT sites. So thank you to all the parents that waited around for us to finish filming the last two weeks of the month, we couldn't have done it without you!

Looking forward to February, our field trip to Family Fun Center, Mid-Winter Break, and lots of fun activities!

It's All About The Tacos

1/25/2019

Hello and happy Friday BLMS families, we sure hope your week was as good as ours!
With no school on Monday because of MLK day we had a short week here at Impact, here's a look at a few of our favorite moments.

This week has been awesome for us because we are in between sports seasons which means we had unlimited access to the gym, and with the rain this week we were happy to be off the field!

If you ask our kids, most of them would say Taco Thursday was the real hit, our students worked together to cut up different toppings and prepare ourselves a real taco party, and if you weren't there, you missed out. But fear not, we have our monthly birthday bash and I've been hearing rumors of another food party coming up next week.

In other news, our goal is to wrap up filming of our Oscar's movie today. Will that happen? Probably not. But we are for sure going to try. Wish us luck.

What A Week

1/18/2019

Good afternoon and happy Friday BLMS families! This week has been full of games and adventures! Let's dive in to some of this weeks highlights here at Impact!
Picture
On Monday, we were lucky enough to have Mr. Tyler come over from PCMS and give us a taste of some of his Virtual Reality games! We're hoping to have him back soon to walk us through some of his favorite things to make with a 3D Printer!

Later in the week we printed out some new stencils and had fun with canvas creations. This project was a lot more open ended where you could free paint anything or if you wanted to try your hand at stencils and spray paint!
Picture
And If arts and crafts aren't your thing we also took to the field for some Ultimate Frisbee. Unfortunately the games got so intense we forgot to take photos, but it looked a lot like this.

And as you may know if you are a frequent reader of our blog we have begun filming our 2019 Oscars film. And like I said last week, I am sworn to secrecy, but here is just one sneak peak behind the scenes.

Well that is just about it from us this week! We hope you have a great weekend and we will see you next time!

New Year, New Us

1/11/2019

Hello and Happy New Year BLMS families! We hope you all had a great break filled with lots of fun adventures because the few of us at Winter Break Impact sure did!

As we begin the new year we decided a few upgrades to our room were in order. We got some new shelves that we filled with board games and some more arts and craft supplies!
Picture
Up until this point all of our games and puzzles have been kept in a closed cabinet and our staff discovered that a lot of our kids did not know they were there! Ever since the move board game usage has been off the charts!

We are also getting into all sorts of different crafts. If you have been around the portable lately you would know that knitting is at an all time high, and now we are transitioning into nail and string art. Definitely a work in progress, but we're getting there!

And finally, what will be taking a good chunk of our time for the next month or so... our Oscars movie! While i am not at liberty to give away any details from the film, I have been granted access to one teaser photo provided by the director.
