Trying Something New

12/13/2019

Hello and happy Friday BLMS friends and families! This week I stepped out of my comfort zone to try out a game the kids have been begging to play. Dungeons and Dragons. Normally whenever our kids get together for a table top role playing game, I reach out to one of our other assistants and we do a little switch-a-roo for the day so they can come here and bring the story to life. NOT. THIS. TIME.

It was quite the experience for all of us, and a whole lot of firsts. We had 3 kids who had never played an RPG before and it was my first time ever being a Dungeon Master. We definitely hit a few rough patches but I think it is safe to say we all had fun and we all look forward to doing this again next month!

In other news, I recently found a Youtube channel focused soley around this guys marble collection. He breaks them into teams and they have a wide variety of races and other competitions and if you follow the videos and the standings there is also a "Marblelympics" where all the teams come together for a 4 hour video that is as addicting as it is confusing.

Be sure to check back next Friday for a little recap of our family  bingo night next Thursday!

What A Trimester It Has Been

12/6/2019

Happy Friday BLMS friends and family! This week felt short to me. Maybe the 4 day weekend last week is what did it for me. Either way, we tried our best to squeeze in as many activities as we could!

With the weather changing and it getting colder and colder and closer to winter break, we thought it would be nice to get a few decorations around the room! A few of us got together and we cut up some snow flakes to hang from the ceiling. Here is just a peak at a few of them!

This week we also got to try out a new game here at Beaver Lake thanks to our friends over at IMS! We had a ton of fun playing Gaga ball yesterday, we played all afternoon!

Today we have an early release and will be going on a field trip to Dave & Busters / Auburn Outlet Mall! We will be back around 4pm! Have a great weekend Beaver Lake!
