Fizzy Paint!

11/27/2019

We added a fun new element to our painting experience this week at Comet Club!

Just by adding a mysterious substance to our paint, our paintings came to life with fizzing bubbles if we added a few drops of Vinegar!

Can you guess what our mysterious substance is?

The students had fun discovering new ways to mix the colors and add texture to their paintings with Fizzy Fun Bubbles!

Have a Great Holiday Weekend With Family and Friends!

Thanks,

Mr. Mike

It was a November to remember at Comet Club!  We had so much fun and can't wait for December!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break! MS. Wendee

Beyblades!

11/22/2019

We took the fun of Beyblade creating to a whole new level of fun this week by using every bodies favorite material: Candy!!!

Yep, you read it right! Candy!
So put down the Legos and the Perler Beads and pick up the sweet spinning force of candy Beyblades!

(P.S. rest assured they were not suitable for consumption, so no need for a trip to the dentist required!)

Have a Great Weekend!

S'Mores Ovens

11/21/2019

Yesterday in Comet Club, a group of smart, talented ladies and I built s'mores ovens (some may even have brought them home!) The girls who built the ovens were not only able to enjoy a s'more before we could put the ovens outside (they are basically solar powered ovens to roast s'mores in) but they also spent a lot of time, energy and dedication building a very complex STEM project! I'm blown away daily by how amazing, talented and gifted the kids at Comet Club are, and these girls definitely showed me that they can take on any challenge and exceed all my expectations! Great job girls!
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Julia

Maxmobile Visit

11/15/2019

Thank you to everyone who donated supplies to the Seattle Humane Society!  The kids really enjoyed getting to pet the cats they brought for us.  We learned how the cats are taken care of until they are adopted. We had a purrrrfect time!  Ms. Wendee

Homemade poptarts

11/14/2019

Today at Comet Club, we made Homemade poptarts and frosted them! The kids loved learning how to make them, and we even practiced our baking skills by crimping the edges (sort of like making a pie!)
It's been a busy, fun week at Comet Club and we are having a great time learning how to cook different things!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hot Glue Bling

11/14/2019

Who needs Jared when you have a hot glue gun?

We decked ourselves out with the latest Bling here at Comet Club this week with designer rings and pendants by the best design team this side of Klahanie!

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Mike

B-I-N-G-O

11/7/2019

Yesterday at Comet Club, we frosted, decorated and enjoyed delicious sugar cookies and then played Bingo! It was a great time with all of the kids and they even took turns on announcing and rolling the bingo game to see what to call next! Today, we will be starting a new club, Club 54 Leadership, that will include 4th and 5th graders in helping Ms. Julia create activities, plan field trips, come up with a service learning project that helps impact the local and global communities, and make friends! We'll also be doing some social emotional learning and finding ways to connect with one another in a positive and safe space! We've had another great week here at Comet Club thanks to your great kids!
Happy Veterans Day weekend and I hope you have a chance to spend time with loved ones this weekend!

Math Bingo at the Pumpkin Patch!

11/6/2019

We had fun this week making our own tasty pumpkin patch which gave us a little brain boost to figure out the math problems for our math BINGO game!

Have A Great Weekend!

Mr. Mike

Marbles, Cooking and more!

11/1/2019

Happy November 1st everyone! I hope you had a great Halloween! I know last night at my house, we went through over 8 bags of candy in 2 hours, so we had plenty of trick or treaters! Even my dogs dressed up! :)
This week (and last week) in Comet Club we've had so much fun! Last week due to the stormy weather, we had an impromptu movie day where the kids got to vote on a movie and we enjoyed a lot of popcorn! Please note- we don't do movie days often, but sometimes it's nice to have a relaxing, fun afternoon with one another as we enjoy a great family movie!
This week, we built Playdough marble tracks to see how long and fast we could get a marble to go on a playdough track and today we are making mini pancake muffins-- stay tuned to see how they turned out.
Sorry for the blurry photos, we are trying to figure out why the camera settings got changed recently:)

Hope you all have a great weekend, and stay warm out there!
-Ms. Julia
