May Month In Review With Mr. Harris
We are down to the home stretch. I can't believe we have one more month of school. This month seemed to fly. The weather was great and even had some temperatures soar into the high 70's. Some of the the highlights this month included Teacher Appreciation week. Our kids celebrated our teachers by making them thank you posters. Some students worked in groups while others worked individually. After they were done with their posters we delivered them to their classes! This month also included Harry Potter week. The kids had a blast this week making crafts and playing fun games. This week also included a potions class. The kids made a potion blend of fun bath salts. We added different colors and put the ingredients in fun potion bottles. The kids always love Harry Potter! We finished the week watching the Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone!

Can you believe we believe we only have one month left of school!?!? This month was so fast and fun, and we had our final Family Night of the year, which almost all of you attended. It was so much fun to see all of you come out for our Burgers & BINGO night. Everyone seemed to love the wonderful BINGO Calling from Mr. Harris, the face painters, balloon artists, photo booth wall and the delicious Burger Food Truck. We had a blast hosting all of you and are looking forward to an even bigger event next year!! Thank you to all of you for making it such a fun year.
April Month in Review with Miss Alyssa
We had a great month of April, filled with fun activities for Easter, Earth Day and Spring. One of my favorite was making Bird Bathes that you can take home and put out in your garden. The kids had such a fun time decorating and designing their outdoor art. Check out all the great pics below.
April Month In Review With Mr. Harris
Happy April! This month really went by super fast. We celebrated holidays, Spring, and Earth day. The weather was beautiful too and spending time outside was perfect! At the beginning of the month the kids thought it would be fun to make some bunny bait. This activity was super fun starting with Mr. Harris ready a funny story about a bunny who stole eggs. After we finished the story we made a sweet treat. We mixed white, yellow, and pink chocolate with popcorn all together. It was so delicious that the kids wanted to do this again next year. This month we also had our annual egg hunt! The weather was perfect for this day. Each student who participated got their own egg and had to find eggs as well. Congrats to Declan and Nicole for finding the special "staff for a day" egg!!
Happy Friday Cougars!
It is good to see a majority of our friends back from break. Our friends have told us some great stories about at home and out of town vacations, and the Cougar Club staff have loved it. I've heard about kids swimming with manta rays, one trying apple coca cola, and others that have visited grandparents. As well as, ones that spent the break at Club Connection at Cougar Ridge.
Now for Ms. Kris' highlight for the week. As it spring time, we thought that it would be great to make this week's theme into eggs, as this is the time of life and our trees starting to turn lush. So, we made egg shaped, spring colored, and fruit scented bath fizzies. Sometimes, bath fizzies are hard to make; one friend said that they have never had them turn out correctly. Yet, it turns out that this batch (recipe) worked really well! Our kids had a blast mixing together the ingredients and choosing a scent! Overall, we loved the way that they freshened up the entire room!
The citric acid and baking soda in the bath fizzies undergo a chemical reaction when they are placed in water. This reaction produces carbon dioxide and creates lots of bubbles, which is where the name comes from. Additionally, if you notice the interesting way the fizzies dissolve, that is because of the carbon dioxide breaking the dry ingredients up. It seems that our friends love to witness any reaction that produces carbon dioxide bubbles. Below is the recipe we used for the bath fizzies.
