Message from Miss Alyssa
Well what can I say, other then I miss you all so much!! This has been such a crazy time and I wanted to let you all know how much I miss seeing you all daily. I hope that you are all staying safe and healthy along with getting some quality family time. I truly appreciate the emails that have been sent to us with pictures and videos of Cougar Club kids spending their time, they mean the world to us. Please keep them coming!
I thought I would share some photos of one of the last big projects we did at Cougar Club, our March Fairy Gardens. Hopefully we will be back soon and we can do a second round of them!
Miss you all so much and please take care.
Happy Friday, I hope all of you are doing well. Have I told you lately how much we miss all of you? Well, we most certainly do! I hope this finds all of you staying healthy and learning new things; about the world, about one another and about yourselves! Thank you for taking on a role that most of you never thought you would ever be doing. We know this is no easy task as many parents are working from home while trying to juggle teaching children at the same time. I certainly can testify that homeschooling is not an easy task even when I am a childcare "professional."
Many Cougar Club kids know that I love reading to the kids. Below is a video( not great quality) I shot reading one of my favorite stories. Please share with your child if you have the chance. Please tell your child(ren) we miss them and hope to see them soon! If your child would like to send us message, pic, or a video, we would be so happy to see.
Good afternoon, Cougar Club. I hope everyone is staying safe and that we continue to work together as a community to get through this difficult time period. As far as details about the program going forward, we do not have any information at this time. Please continue to check your emails for any updates. On a positive note, the kids had a blast this week playing in the sun and creating all sorts of St. Patrick's Day crafts. Check out the photos below to get a glimpse of one of the themed crafts we made this week. Talk to you soon!
We made it through another month already! Can you believe it? The weeks are flying by and March activities are in full swing. This week the kids have been channeling their silly sides and doing all kinds of Dr. Seuss crafts and activities. We have made Thing 1 & 2 flower pots, framed truffala trees, green eggs+ham, and much more. The next couple weeks we will transition into St.Patrick's Day activities and finish off the month with March Madness basketball. Check back next week for more updates!
All About the Kids Moment
What started as some kidding around with a student and myself Monday, ended in an all Cougar Club event. On Monday evening Sophia asked if she could marry my Walkie talkie which she named Jeff. We joked about it all evening and into the next day. From that it became an all day planning event on Wednesday to have a wedding for Sophia and Jeff the Walkie Talkie. Students all got involved in the planning, making decorations, writing vows, and making rings/outfits.
On Thursday afternoon, the ceremony happened at the top of the playground structure. She was walked down an aisle of rose petals and bark chips to Jeff the Walkie Talkie who was being held by the Best Man Aaron. Mr. Harris helped precede over the wedding. When it was all done we celebrated with a reception of mini cupcakes for all.
Have fun watching the video and looking through all the pictures.
