We had an awesome fun filled week here at Coyote Club. One of the kids favorite activities we did this week, was the Store vs. Name brand challenge. Each student made their own score card and were given two cups. One with a name brand item and the other one with a store brand item. Name brand products that we used that you might see at the store were: Fruit Loops, Oreos, Cheez-its, Lays, and Tree Top. The store brand equivalent to these items were: Cookie Sandwiches, So Cheesy! crackers, flavored fruit rings, and Kroger brand apple juice.
In front of each tester was two cups and their scoring sheet. They took a bite out of each snack and decided which one they thought that was name or store brand. While doing this we realized it was very easy to tell just by looking at the snacks which ones were store or name brand. The store brand items were smaller and the Coyote Clubbers even said they looked burnt. When tasting the snacks, they said that the store brand items tasted just a little off and were just not as good.
Check out the pictures below for a look at what the taste testing looked like!
