Happy New Year and Welcome back to Jaguar Club. This week has gone by fast but to help us relax we had a Spa day at the club. There was a hair station where you could get a cool new style or even add some temporary color to your hair. There was a nail station where we had every color you could imagine, glitter and even nail stickers! If that wasn’t enough there was also a temporary tattoo station where our artists could draw a custom piece or you could pick a pre-made temporary tattoo. They had so much fun and with the help of Ms. Andrea this was a successful spa day that we look forward to having again soon!
I love Jaguar Club because there is always room for spontaneous dance parties, kickball games, or in this case- gathering together and watching a "How to Draw.." video on YouTube. Our 1st grade kiddo Mike, had the great idea for this simple and relaxing activity which we were able to generate quite the audience while drawing this rainbow caticorn! *That's a cat with a unicorn horn if you're not up to date*
This magical moment was captured by one of our staff who saw the gathering slowly accumulate. Mike and I were so invested and focused on the video and instructions neither of us quite noticed the group surrounding us until the end!
After the first video, all the kids around wanted to take part and search their favorite animal to draw next! It truly was such a precious and refreshing moment to share with these youngsters! A perfect way to end 2019, dare I say.

This week was filled with a lot of fun activities that got Jaguar Club up and moving! Monday started out with an activity called “Elf yourself” were we created these cute elf hats. After we became elves we needed a place to hang out so we made marshmallow igloos to protect us from the cold stormy weather we’ve been having, and they look delicious and sturdy!
Not all of like marshmallows so on Wednesday we made our version of a Gingerbread house using gram crackers and some pretty scrumptious candy. On Thursday to help keep us warm during the rain, we had a Just Dance party which got our students up and showing off some pretty awesome dance moves. During our dance party Mr. Noah surprised us all by helping several girls paint their fingernails in a make shift spa day. We finished our week by making our own fake snow and having a Snowball fight in the MPR.
This classic game of musical chairs was brought to a whole new level when we added disco lights to the mix! With nearly 30 kids wanting to participate in this fun rainy day activity, we upped the anti even more by removing not 1, but 2-3 chairs per round!!!!! Talk about wild!
Some days, all you need is some fold-able chairs and some rockin' tunes to make for an unforgettable day.
This week we tried something new, we tried to make pancake art!! We used different colored pancake batters to create designs. We had a couple mishaps where we burned a couple but we quickly figured out the best way to make these tasty treats. These edible creations were so much fun to design and eat!!
Nothing says "community" like a fun new photo wall!?
This year we're starting loads of new Jag Club community traditions! And on display, we've got the beginnings of an epic Polaroid Photo Wall! The kids love posing for the camera and watching the photo magically appear right in front of their eyes!
I can't wait to see this wall burst with photos of the very best kiddos and staff in the world!
Stay updated with Jag Club and check out our new Polaroid Wall in the Craft Room!
Have a great weekend! And stay warm out there!

It's no secret that Holiday's are rapidly approaching! And in this glorious month of November I'd like to recognize and appreciate all the friendships created here at Jaguar Club!
I think you can agree, there is nothing quite like the easy going and quick bonds that form among peers during our Elementary School years. It feels almost effortless, right? You can go from hardly knowing each other to the best friends in seconds! All it takes is a little courage to join in on that epic LEGO building sesh or a fun game of lava monster, then BAM! You're playing like you've known each other for years!
It truly is so remarkable and something we can all be grateful for. Here's some great pics of of our pals hanging and being buds at Jaguar Club. Enjoy! and happy weekend!

It’s been open for a couple weeks but our students are obsessed with the new playground. Every day they are out there for as long as possible. They enjoy the new spiname and the spider web, there is even an obstacle course that connects all the new toys. This means there might be an American Ninja Warrior Tournament coming soon. With daylight saving time ending its getting dark a lot earlier which means less time on the playground but when we come back to the portable there’s always a party happening inside!!!
At Jaguar Club we have so many talented students who are finding new ways to express their interests. This week Jonah made a Ship from several different mediums. This ship was created over several days using K’nex and gears. We have yet to test whether this ship is sea worthy but it looks pretty amazing. Our next creative creation is a glove which includes a thumb hole. Akhil learned how to make his own gloves using string and a loom. He got the basics down with a little help from our very own Ms. Susanne who said she was impressed with how quickly he picked up the skills. We are very excited to see what comes next!
