March Recap!

3/29/2019

Welcome back!

WOWZERS! If your student was a part of our Oscar film you know that March was a seriously busy month for us!! After the snow days, script edits, filming, and finally the show, we are finished! A big CONGRATULATIONS to our star, Konner, for winning Best Overall Lead Actor!!! Konner was up against four other boys, but ultimately won our academy viewers hearts! Go Konner! He even got to take an engraved Oscar award home at the end of the night.

Other than the Oscars, we started the month of March off with some wood burning! Mr. Logan bought us all types of different types of wood for us to experiment with. We also made our own stamps! By just using thin pieces of wood, glue, and rope! Holy-moly we have some artistic kids here at !mpact!!
On the calendar we had a wilderness walk planned. We did go walking on some trails... then ended up at Briarwood! We played on the playground and some students even got to hang out with their siblings!
We tried out a new craft with canvases. We used exacto knives to create designs then a shadow background for them. Check out Summer's horse!
Toward the end this month we made some pancakes. Some students did pancake art (as you can see Sylvia made an 'S') and some just made normal pancakes because... why not?! You can see Bret here enjoying his pancake, that he made himself!

That's all for now, folks. See you next month!

February Recap!

3/4/2019

 Hello!

February was a SUPER WIERD month for !mpact (and everyone in the Issaquah School District) because of all of the snow! We didn't get many photos from our normal school days.
You'll see some photos of us preparing for the 2019 !mpact Oscars (which is coming up on March 22nd!!) With all of the snow we luckily got an extended period of time with the fancy camera to finish filming. You'll also see us doing some craft projects (yes, we used spoons to hold our paint. You do what you gotta do!). Neha made a beautiful sunset with chalk pastels, and Summer used watercolor to make her floating island creation. Our kids are so talented! We also played a TON of bump (a type of basketball game). Other than that we had a blast at Pine Lake Middle School for Mid-Winter Break making clay Mount Rushmores, playing Whirly Ball, and more! We hope to see more Maywood kids attend next break ;)

Thanks for stopping by! We'll see you next month :)
