What is Halloween without a little Spider Web activity. The Otters were excited to make webs and place their rather large and spooky spiders on them. We even had some glow in the dark spiders! Truly frightening and a major phobia of mine!
HALLOWEEN time is so much fun because there are SOOOOOO many cool activities and crafts to choose from. This week we were able to incorporate a Halloween themed S.T.E.M project which allowed the Otters to build a "Bone Bridge" and see how much weight their structure could handle. We also made glow in the dark masking tape hands and used the students hand prints to make skeletal art. Stay Tuned for more...
This was a very popular activity this week as our Otters ramp up their Halloween Spirit! This simple but effective craft makes a big splash on a porch or window when the lights are out with these battery powered tea lights. This activity required some team work and sharing and a good time was had by all.
Introducing Otters to science has been fun this week. We did some cool things AND they worked! We learned how to make parachutes, how to complete electrical circuits and try out different building techniques. We also discovered that if you lay down on the slide that there was enough static electricity to make hair stand straight up as well as provide a nice little shock to Mr. James! All in all a good week to be at OTTER CLUB.
