OSCAAAAAAARS

3/25/2019

The !mpact Oscars were last friday, and they were amazing. Truly an incredible event and our kiddos were out in force. Taking home awards in "Best sound Tech" "Best Actress in a supporting role" and the coveted "Best cast". They even gave us tiny gold statues to commemorate the event. The PLMS film "November 32nd" also had the best credits sequence IMO.

Truly a night to remember. I hope everyone is as fired up as I am for next year when we dethrone PCMS and make sure they never win another oscar, in any catergory, EVER AGAIN.
Oh and here is a picture of Scooby (the pizza shark) holding the award for best cast in front of the big screen.

Sorry it's green. Cameras are weird sometime.

Welcome to March

You might recall that the PLMS mascot is the wolverine. Over at Impact though, we have new mascot. One of our paraprofessionals at a recent field trip to lucky strike in Bellevue won this adorable pizza shark in the arcade. Collectively the bus full of Impact, staff and student alike, christened him our new mascot. He is very cute and fuzzy.

A certain student, who shall remain nameless, likes to leave their stuff scattered around the impact portable like some sort of yard sale. In a moment of jest I informed her that if she refuses to avail herself of the cubbies in the portable I will be forced to hide her things in creative ways. My hope being that the frantic search at the end of day will create a lasting memory for years to come. One favored tactic I have developed in this ongoing drama is to place objects in the ceiling. This puts them just out of reach of students without assistance while leaving them out of where they would typically search, all while being in plain view the entire time.

As of writing the student in question has still not retrieved her phone.

This one just amazes me, and is a bit of a non-sequitur. This can is so perfectly crushed. About 60% of students surveyed agree, this is excellent and uncommon. According to the story I was told, this was accomplished  not simply by stepping on the can, nor stomping on the can, but rather by jumping into the air and landing directly on top of the can. Amazing.
Until next time Blogateers, stay gold.
