We are back in action!
We are one month in to the school year, and we have already do so much! Here are some of the awesome activities we did. Since we were so busy during these activities I was not able to get pictures this month, but stay tuned for the October recap for pictures!
Locker Magnets: Now that school in session, we wanted the kids to be able to make something they can decorate their lockers with. We made our own locker magnets! We took small glass medals and cut out patterned paper and modge podged them together. Then we took some hot glue and attached a magnet. We had a lot of awesome creations and the kids now have a cool decorations for their new lockers.
STARBUCKS: Since we are so close, each month we will try and walk over to the Starbucks at Pine Lake. We will let the kids know days before we go so that they can bring some money to get a drink or a treat from Starbucks. Once we have everyone who wants to go we make our way over. The kids look forward to this walking field trip every month!
World Cup Soccer: Another massive favorite, is World Cup Soccer. We all head down to the field and each player picks a partner, from there it is duo vs duo. Once your team scores you step off and wait until the next round. The teams play until there are two teams left, and the next to score stays on and the last team is now out. We will play several round until we crown a winner. The kids love playing world cup, especially when Mr. Derek or I play since they always want to try and beat the staff.
Machi Koro: Machi Koro is a fantastic board game! You are the mayor and are competing against the other players to build a city. The only hard part, you start with only a city hall, a wheat field, and a bakery. From there you have to make the right decisions to make money and expand your city. There are specific landmarks you need to build, and the first mayor to build all of those landmarks wins the game. We played this recently with the kids and they had a blast!
Thanks for checking in! Stay tuned to see a more in-depth of what we are doing!
